Analytical model of the network topology and rigidity of calcium aluminosilicate glasses

Topological constraint theory (TCT) has enabled the prediction of various properties oxide glasses as a function their composition and structure. However, robust application TCT relies on accurate knowledge network structure topology. Here, based classical molecular dynamics simulations, we derive fully analytical model describing topology calcium aluminosilicate [(CaO)x(Al2O3)y(SiO2)1?x?y, CAS] ternary system. This yields state rigidity (flexible, isostatic, or stressed-rigid) CAS systems temperature. These results reveal existence correlations between glass-forming ability. study suggests that ability is encoded in liquid rather than glassy state.
